Class Dismissed...

This is the beginning of a 6 week class on "How to Study the Bible." It will begin on January 11, 2009 at 9:00 AM. The final class will be on February 15th.

Our purpose will be to help Christians know the Scriptures and get more out of the Word in reading and study.

We will do 2 weeks of introduction of Inductive Bible Study, types & techniques. We will look at a variety of passages.

Then for the next 4 weeks I will go through the method by doing an Inductive Bible Study of the book of Phillippians. (1 chapter a week)
We will look at: Observation, Interpretation and Application. I will go over Bill Warrick's "Keys to Understanding the Bible". Also I will talk briefly about other methods, such as Deductive Bible Study & I'll mention the "Fill in the Blanks" methods. As a part of Inductive training, I will talk about exegesis, manuscript style (Kay Arthur's), the 7 minute Bible Study, Character Study, Word Study, the A-B-C-D-E method, etc.

Everyone who attends the class all 6 weeks should be able to pick up the Bible and glean personal application w/ minimum assistance.
